Winter Storm Warning
By Bryan Bottarelli
Adam and I have been discussing it for months -- and it could finally be here. The beginning of the next major market sell-off. As I write, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is off 159 points, and virtually every U.S. stock is in the red thanks to “just ok” weekend retail sales offset by sluggish November sales from Wal-Mart (WMT:NYSE) stores. Throw in a weaker dollar, higher oil prices, and Google (GOOG:NASDAQ) pushing lower by $15 and you have the recipe for a broad-based market sell-off.
Here's what happened. Going into the Thanksgiving holiday, the market was very expensive and expectations were sky-high. Any sign of weakness, like Wal-Mart's news today, was the catalyst that caused a major market drop. How low can it go?
According to WaveStrength charting, this could be the beginning of something even bigger. I won't go into too much detail here in Market Report, but Adam and I will be out shortly with the profitable series we've come to call “Storm Warning.”
WOW readers and WS Traders, expect to be hearing more on this “Storm Warning” play as the week progresses.
