“This is weird. This is not why we moved to Central Florida. We thought we left this behind.” - Orlando resident Sandy Pastor (via WFTV.COM).
Remember those halcyon days when we thought Fall would never end? Well, it's ending darn abruptly here on the East Coast: Temperatures in central Florida dipped to the low 40's, last night, and tonight North Florida may see wind chill hit 20.
And this weather is no fluke: Up and down the entire coast, another sweater won't cut it. It's furnace season, folks, with all the increased demand that entails. And on the supply side, Reuters is reporting that severe weather at Alaska's port of Valdez has halted crude oil shipments and forced companies to slash output by nearly two-thirds. The last time this happened, crude oil spiked up to $60/barrel almost instantly. Hey, all you WaveStrength Options Weekly readers: What a great time to own a piece of the oil biz, eh? The Walt Disney Company (DIS:NYSE) is on a roll… Yesterday, the company announced that it struck a deal with Payless Shoe Source Inc. (PSS:NYSE) to create Disney-themed footwear exclusively for the shoe stores.
This is Disney's first direct-to-retail footwear collaboration.
This morning, the fresh news is that Comcast Corp. (CMSCA:NASDAQ) has signed a landmark multimillion-dollar distribution deal that allows Comcast to distribute Disney content through video-on-demand.
Comcast is getting a good chunk of the deal as it's buying 39.5% of Disney's stake in the E! Entertainment television channel for $1.23 billion. Comcast already owns 60% of that channel.
This deal allows Comcast to distribute content from Disney Channel, ABC Family, Toon Disney, ESPN, and ESPN2.
DIS is currently at $33.23 per share, rising back to its 52-week high of $33.85. CMCSA is down on the day below its 10-day Moving Average at $39.85 per share.
Piggy-backing on what Adam wrote, facing a Thanksgiving holiday that's bracketing the trading week means that floor traders are faced with two additional days of time decay. As a result, the December options string will receive an accelerated level of price deterioration and we want to take full advantage of this in WaveStrength Professional.
WaveStrength APEX members: Keep an eye out for a trade coming shortly.
